If you find yourself on this page, you are the kind of person who wants to know the source of the information presented on this website. To you, we say, “Bravo!”
We owe a great deal of credit to Gallup for refining the science of engagement through their painstakingly accurate research over the past forty years. Gallup measures and analyzes the data regarding engagement for corporations, health care systems, schools and, most recently, faith-based organizations. In addition to collecting and making sense of the data, Gallup provides counsel on how to improve levels of engagement. Thus, Gallup offers both a description and a prescription for organizations that seek to become more engaged.
For further background and study, we recommend Growing an Engaged Church: How to Stop “Doing Church” and Start Being the Church Again. (Winseman, Albert L. 2006. New York. Gallup Press). The appendix of this book documents Gallup’s research on faith and engagement.
We also recommend from Gallup Press Living Your Strengths: Discover Your God-Given Talents and Inspire Your Community. (Winseman, Albert L., Clifton, Donald O., and Leisveld, Curt. 2003). A Catholic Edition of this book was published in 2006, and in 2008 the Spanish language edition was introduced. Through a unique code contained in every book, the reader is given access to the Clifton StrengthsFinder, an online assessment that measures the presence of talent in 34 categories called “themes.” The appendix of this book contains both documentation and an extensive bibliography.
